Dr. Denny put me at ease immediately. He took the time to explain the diagnosis process and then guided me through the steps in a gentle, professional manner. When I did need a break to breathe or cry, he facilitated these moments so that I felt safe to do so.  If you are limited to one session, I would recommend writing a summary of your concerns/personal history to forward pre-appointment and to make it clear about what advice you are seeking so as to maximise your time.

Dr Denny was brilliant in helping get an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan after our consultation. He also made me feel comfortable during our assessment which enabled me to talk about my issues confidently.

Dr Denny was very understanding of the issues that I have been dealing with- and explained the appropriate treatment that I would need and why. His professionalism was reassuring.

Profile

I am a Consultant Psychiatrist. I was an NHS Consultant in Adult Mental Health for over 20 years and now work privately.

I trained as a doctor at Bristol University. I have a degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Psychotherapy. I became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1996 and a Fellow of the College a decade ago.

I make sure my patients receive a comprehensive assessment and appropriate treatment. In addition to prescribing medication, my psychodynamic approach helps to understand how past experiences relate to present difficulties. This can often be the key to recovery.
